Residents & tenants are issued a Windshield Tag to place on their vehicles. That tag is associated with the resident/tenant in the ButterflyMX OS database. When the resident/tenant drives up to a gate or garage with the Vehicle Reader installed, that tag is automatically scanned, and compared to the permissions assigned to that resident/tenant. If they have access permissions to that gate/garage, it will open; otherwise, it will not open. Each time a Windshield Tag is scanned, a time- and date-stamped record of that scan is stored in the ButterflyMX OS for review.

Yes, if you’re an administrator, you can log into your ButterflyMX OS and change access permissions for Windshield Tags — any changes will be instantly made. And if permissions are revoked, previously issued Windshield Tags will no longer provide access to your gate or garage.
